ZTE to unveil second Firefox OS phone next week
ZTE will present its second device with Firefox OS next week. The manufacturer itself has announced this. The Chinese manufacturer showed its first device with Mozilla’s mobile operating system at the same fair last year.
ZTE announced that the device will be called Open C and that it was made in collaboration with the Spanish provider Telefonica, but did not disclose any further details. The phone will run Firefox OS 1.3, a new version that offers many improvements, including push notifications.
The Chinese manufacturer released the Open last year, the first phone with Firefox OS to appear on the market. At the time, Alcatel One Touch also made a model with the Mozilla operating system with the Fire. Whether more manufacturers are now releasing models with Firefox OS is unknown.
In addition to the Open C, ZTE also comes with the Grand Memo II LTE, a successor to its large phone Grand Memo. The manufacturer does not disclose any details about this either.
