ZTE has announced a high-end smartphone with a 5-inch Full HD screen and a quad-core SoC from Qualcomm. The device is intended for release on the Chinese market, but it is known that the manufacturer also has European ambitions.

A PR manager of the company announced the device, which bears the name Nubia Z5, for a release in China, so discovered the Tech Kiddy blog. The Nubia is based on a 5″ screen and Qualcomm’s APQ8064 soc, which is built into many high-end devices. There are four Krait cores and the clock speed is usually around 1.5GHz. ZTE also has 2GB of ram built-in and the screen resolution is 1920×1080 pixels.Photos can be shot with a 13-megapixel camera and the thickness is only 7.6mm.

ZTE is particularly known for budget devices that telecom providers release under their own name. However, the Chinese manufacturer has indicated that it has ambitions to market devices itself, which means that more high-end devices must also appear. The Nubia Z5 should appear in China next week, but whether the device will also be released elsewhere is not yet known. Because ZTE is also active in Europe, it is not inconceivable that the Nubia or a similar device will receive a European release.
