ZTE has launched the Blade L2 smartphone in Europe. The Chinese manufacturer managed to sell its previous Blade models well in Europe and has therefore decided to release a new budget device.

The Blade L2 has a 5″ touchscreen with a relatively low resolution of 854×480 pixels. ZTE has opted for a 1.3GHz quadcore soc from MediaTek. There is 1GB of RAM, along with 4GB of flash storage. With micro-SD cards the storage capacity can be further increased. The camera on the back offers a 5-megapixel resolution, and on the front is a simple 0.3-megapixel camera.

The smartphone is 8.95 mm thick and runs on Android 4.2. There is room for two SIM cards, but it cannot connect to 4G networks. Furthermore, 802.11n WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0 are present, as well as a GPS module. The battery has a capacity of 2000mAh.

ZTE announces that the device is immediately available for sale in Spain and Greece. The budget smartphone should also be available in other European countries later this year. The company does not mention a suggested retail price, but in Spain the device would be for sale from 129 euros.
