Zotac introduces Zbox with Intel Core i5-6400T
Zotac has announced a new Zbox mini PC. The MI551 has a quad-core processor of Intel’s Skylake generation with a TDP of 35W. The barebone has USB-C and an M2 connection for SSDs.
The design of the Zbox MI551 is unchanged from previous models. Zotac has now placed a Core i5-6400T under the hood. This is a quad-core processor of the Skylake generation that does its job at 2.2GHz and has a TDP of 35W. The GPU of the processor is the HD Graphics 530.
Zotac does not add memory and storage media by default. The user can do this themselves, with two SODIMM slots for up to 16GB DDR3L-1600 RAM, while storage can be added via the SATA600 interface for 2.5″ media or the M2 connection for SSDs that is connected. Zotac does come with a Plus model that already has 4GB of memory and an SSD with m2 form factor and storage capacity of 120GB.
The MI551 also has a USB 3.1 type-c connection on the front and, according to Zotac, it supports a throughput of 10Gbit/s, making it a reversible second-generation USB 3.1 connection. There is also an SD card reader combined with a USB 3.1 connection on the front.
At the back are HDMI, two display ports, a duo of gigabit Ethernet ports and two more USB 3.0 interfaces. Furthermore, the mini PC supports WiFi-AC and Bluetooth 4.0. Zotac has not yet announced euro prices for the Zbox MI551.
