Zotac has announced two new Zbox workstations with Intel Xeon CPUs and Nvidia Quadro graphics cards. The small barebones include support for Intel Optane Memory. They are the first Zbox systems from Zotac with an Intel Xeon.

Zotac published Monday announcing its new Zbox workstations in the Q series. With the Zbox QX3P3000 and QX3P5000, the difference lies in the graphics card with which Zotac equips them. The P3000 has, as the name suggests, a mobile Quadro P3000 and the P5000 contains a Quadro P5000.

Furthermore, the compact systems have an Intel Xeon E-2136 processor, two DDR4 slots for a maximum RAM memory capacity of 64GB and six USB ports, one of which is a type-c port. The user has to add storage space to the system himself, Zotac has reserved an m2 SSD slot, as well as an m2 slot for Intel Optane Memory. Gigabit Ethernet and a ‘Killer’ controller for 2.5 Gbit/s Ethernet are also available.

The dimensions of the barebones are 225mm in width, 128mm in height and 203mm in length. Due to the small size, Zotac has chosen to use the mobile graphics cards in Nvidia’s Quadro line for workstations. It is not yet known when the compact workstations will be released and how much they will cost.
