Zoom will add Zoom Events to its video conferencing tool in the summer. This allows organizations to organize virtual events and conferences. Both private and public events are possible, with or without ticket sales.

According to Zoom, the new event platform is intended for both large organizations and small entrepreneurs. The latter group that already uses OnZoom for virtual meetings, will soon be able to do so at Zoom Events. OnZoom is now available in beta, but will be part of Zoom Events.

Organizers can set up a hub to manage events with Zoom Events. From there, ticket sales and registration can also be arranged and statistics are visible. It is possible to organize free or paid events and setting up recurring events is also an option.

According to Zoom, visitors to the events will have the opportunity to ‘network virtually’. Zoom Events can be used with existing licenses for Zoom Meetings and Zoom Video Webinars. It is not possible to create events with the free version of Zoom. You can participate with the free version.
