Zeiss places the teasers of his camera on the Chinese Weibo. The latest image shows a shutter button and the front of a lens. According to SonyAlphaRumors, it is a camera with a fixed lens and a full-frame sensor from Sony.

The device may be based on the Sony RX1R II, a compact camera with a 42.2-megapixel sensor of the full-frame format. Sony announced that camera in 2015. The RX1 has a 35mm f/2.0 lens, the Zeiss camera may get a similar lens, but one from the Zeiss factory itself. According to rumors, the Zeiss lens is larger than the Sony variant.

The announcement would take place before the Photokina, which will start at the end of September. Zeiss hasn’t released any digital cameras yet, but in recent years the brand has launched several lenses for Sony’s mirrorless cameras.
