Zeiss is launching the successor to the Zeiss VR One, the VR One Plus. The lens maker’s virtual reality glasses are intended for Android and iOS smartphones with a screen size from 4.7″ to 5.5″. The headset will cost 129 euros.

With the update of Zeiss’ first VR headset from December 2014, smartphones with a slightly larger screen can be placed in the holder. In addition, the headband can be removed and it is possible to remove and replace the foam rubber on the inside of the glasses. The lenses on the side where the phone is inserted can also be cleaned better than with the previous version because the white exterior can be removed.

The glasses will be shown at E3 and can be paired with a DJI Inspire 1 drone, so that you can watch the images of the drone. In addition to Zeiss’ own software and the apps developed with it, the company also works with Google for Cardboard optimizations.

The headset will be available from August for a suggested retail price of 129 euros. Zeiss has set up a separate website for its VR One glasses.
