YouTuber shows what World of Warcraft would look like in Unreal 4 with ray tracing
YouTuber Daniel L has created a fan video showing environments from World of Warcraft that he recreated in Unreal Engine 4 using ray tracing. He has recreated four World of Warcraft environments, but has no plans to make the worlds playable.
A video by YouTuber Daniel L shows how Stormwind City, Goldshire, Duskwood and Grizzly Hills from World of Warcraft would look like if the game was made in the game engine Unreal Engine 4, which supports ray tracing by default.
Daniel L worked out the environments in great detail in Unreal Engine 4, including a full interior for Lion’s Pride Inn. The video shows him walking through Duskwood, with buildings lined with fireplaces and torches lighting the way. He has elaborated Duskwood the most extensively.
DSO Gaming writes that Daniel L has no plans to make the environments public to other players. It’s not the first fan remake of World of Warcraft in Unreal 4. Daniel L has been working on remakes of WoW in Unreal for years. In 2019 he published an earlier version of Stormwind City. That same year, 3D artist Wiktor Ohman recreated parts of WoW in Unreal 4 and YouTuber Axcel Highbanks recreated.
