YouTube Music introduces playlists for discovering new music tracks
Streaming music service YouTube Music has started distributing a new feature called Discover Mix. It is an automatically generated playlist based on previously listened to music, which is very similar to the Discover Weekly lists of competitor Spotify.
The new feature in the YouTube Music app was first spotted by some Reddit users, but it’s not available everywhere right now. Discover Mix is very similar to Spotify’s Discover Weekly and aims to help listeners find new music that suits their personal tastes.
The auto-generated playlist consists of 49 songs and is refreshed every Wednesday. As usual, the user can also add this playlist to his library or download the songs to listen to them offline.
Discover Mix follows about a month after Google added a New Releases Mix playlist to YouTube Music, in response to Spotify’s New Music Friday and Apple’s New Music Daily. In regions where both features are available, they can be found through the also new Mixed for You feature.
The new Discover Mix feature should appear in the New Releases section soon
