YouTube is testing showing timed comments while watching video

YouTube is testing a different view of the comments under videos. Timed Beta allows users to see the reactions associated with moments within the video while watching a YouTube video.

The option appears as a third option on the button to sort comments, next to ‘Top comments’ and ‘Newest first’. Users will then see the responses that refer to a specific point in a video via a timestamp, when that specific point in the video has been reached. With that, the Timed Beta view probably resembles the live chat replay of YouTube videos that have appeared live, or how SoundCloud handles comments.

The feature is one of YouTube’s experimental test features and has been available to “a small group of users” since Thursday. The company says it may bring the feature to more users, depending on feedback. Google has not shared an image of the feature.
