YouTube is testing screen lock option for Premium users

YouTube is testing a feature for Premium users that will allow you to lock the screen while watching a video. This means that buttons on the screen cannot be pressed accidentally.

YouTube is testing the feature on its Android and iOS apps. The lock option appears when a video is playing full screen and users cannot press any buttons until they press the unlock button. Interested users with Premium can test the feature at least until July 30, according to YouTube.

At the same time, YouTube is experimenting with ways to discourage adblock users. The most recent of these is a sort of three strikes rule, where a user is asked to turn off their ad blocker and if they haven’t done so after three videos, they are blocked.
