YouTube feature lets users count down to the release of new video

A new YouTube feature lets channel fans count down to when a new video comes out. A timer shows when the video comes out, while fans can chat together in a chat.

YouTube is calling the feature Premiere and it will be available to YouTubers with over 10,000 subscribers. The feature lets channel managers put videos on a timer, after which the page shows a countdown and the chat feature that was previously only available for live videos. In addition, users can get a reminder when the new video goes live.

In addition, there will be more ways for video creators to earn money. There will be Channel Memberships for channels with more than one hundred thousand subscribers. Users can pay $4.99 monthly to access member-only videos and other additional content from YouTubers.

YouTube is also partnering with Teespring to offer merchandise. This allows channel managers to easily design, sell and deliver merchandise to fans. That option will be available for channels with more than ten thousand subscribers.
