YouTube comes with chat service within mobile app
YouTube will offer its own chat service in the mobile app. This chat service allows users to share links to videos with contacts. The chat service should lead to more use of the video service.
By putting chats about videos in the app itself, users no longer have to switch to other chat services to chat with contacts about a video, Wired writes based on information from YouTube. YouTube calls the feature “native sharing,” indicating that the feature works via the share button in the app.
YouTube has activated the feature with a small number of users, who in turn can show the feature to contacts by sharing a video with them. It is unknown how many users already have the feature.
The feature has its own tab in the YouTube app interface to track chats. It is not yet known when the video site will put the feature live for everyone. YouTube is part of Google, which in turn is part of parent company Alphabet.
