Sega has announced that the detective game Judgment will be released in the West on June 25. It is only going to be released for the PlayStation 4. The game is made by the studio behind the Yakuza games and was previously released in Japan.

On Twitter, publisher Sega . reports that Judgment will be released on June 25, but those who pre-order will get access to the game four days early. It’s been clear since December last year that the detective game will get a Western release, but no date has been announced until now.

Sega’s Yakuza team, the studio Ryu ga Gotoku, already released the game in Japan last December under the title Judge Eyes. The story-driven game centers on a lawyer who is on the hunt for a serial killer and must fight his way through the underworld.

Judgment is set in the fictional district of Kamurocho, which was originally created for the Yakuza games. In addition to the detective work, there will also be fighting; there are two fighting styles present. So there are some similarities with the Yakuza games, but Gamespot reports that Toshihiro Nagoshi, the director of the studio, has indicated that Judgment is “completely different” from previous titles.

The new game of Ryu ga Gotoku is entirely in English, although players can also opt for the original version with Japanese spoken lyrics and music. In addition, English subtitles can be set.
