From November, XMS will supply a PVR with HD support and a hard drive to fiber optic customers who purchase IPTV. This allows viewers to pause or record broadcasts while watching another channel.

XMS delivers ftth via the fiber network of glass heart. Customers can watch television via IPTV, but until now there was no PVR available that can record HD broadcasts. From November there must be change coming in when XMS will start supplying the Amino A532 Compact PVR, the same device that Tele2 has already deployed for its iptv offering.

Customers who already have an Amino set-top box without a hard disk can exchange it for the pvr version at XMS for 50 euros. The individual purchase price is 249 euros. The Amino 532 supports HDTV with resolutions up to 1080i and has a 160GB hard drive. Since XMS supplies fiber via the Glashart network, it is expected that other providers that use this network, including Concepts ICT, Lijbrandt, Plinq and Tweak, will also supply the Amino 532.

XMS is also starting a pilot for the online storage service netdisk. According to XMS, the service would fit well with fiber optic subscriptions thanks to the high upload speed. The trial will run until the end of October with approximately one hundred subjects, each with 50GB of storage space. If successful, the service will launch in November. Available packages and prices are still unknown.
