Xiaoyi Releases MFT System Camera
Xiaoyi, a company with ties to Xiaomi, releases a micro-four-thirds type system camera: the M1. The cheapest version costs 295 euros and is available in the colors silver or black. In addition, Xiaomi has two lenses, a 42.5mm f1.8 and a 12-40mm f3.5 to f5.6.
The camera has a 20-megapixel Sony IMX269 sensor that can be set from ISO 100 to 25,600. The camera has only a 3″ touchscreen with 720×480 pixels and no electronic viewfinder or built-in flash. The M1 can record 4k video at 30fps and has a minimum shutter speed of 1/4000 to a maximum of 60 seconds. In addition, the Xiaoyi M1 camera has wi-fi and bluetooth.
In addition to the two lenses, the advantage of the micro-four-thirds system is that there are more manufacturers who produce lenses for it. It is not known whether the camera will also be available outside of China. The version with the standard zoom costs 2199 yuan or 295 euros and the version with the prime lens of 42.5 mm costs 2999 yuan or 402 euros.
