Xiaomi’s Android release Miui has 163 million users outside of China. This is evident from the quarterly figures of the Chinese manufacturer. It is the first time that Xiaomi has released those figures. In China, there are around 115 million users of the Xiaomi software.

Miui is on all Xiaomi devices except the Mi A phones; that run on Android One. The number of Miui users increased by about eighteen million in the spring. At 278 million, the number of users of the Xiaomi software is not as high as that of the Huawei version. Emui has 470 million users.

Xiaomi delivered 32 million smartphones in the spring, about the same as in the same period last year. In other periods, deliveries of Xiaomi smartphones actually grew. The manufacturer mentions the stagnation in its discussion of the quarterly figures and therefore does not provide an explanation.

The Chinese manufacturer derives 57 percent of its sales from smartphones, while 25.5 percent comes from other products such as set-top boxes, electric scooters and hundreds of other types of devices. The manufacturer makes these in collaboration with other Chinese companies, after which both companies market the product under their own name. About 3 percent of revenue comes from Internet services, including advertisements in Miui. Turnover from this fell, mainly because the advertising market in China was disappointing.

Xiaomi has been publishing its quarterly results since last year, when it went public. Listed companies are required to publish quarterly figures. Before that, it did not publish such figures.
