Xiaomi test toggle for disable ads in Miui
Xiaomi is conducting a test in China that will allow users to disable ads in Miui. Currently that is not possible with a single toggle. In China, users are reported to see a lot more ads than in western countries.
Xiaomi confirms to Android Authority that it is in the process of testing the institution, which users see under Privacy-PrivacyAgreement-System Tool Advertising. A Xiaomi employee showed the toggle on Weibo. The switch is in Miui 9.8.29 and that is not the most recent version of Miui. The Android edition of Xiaomi is now on various devices on version 10.
Chinese users reportedly see more ads, but they are also enabled by default in the software in Western countries. They can be turned off by turning off the ad personalization option in the setup or later in the settings of various apps. Anyone who does that will not see any ads in Xiaomi apps such as security and the download manager for the time being. In China, for example, advertisements are also included in the calendar app.
Xiaomi is not alone in putting ads in Android. Google places advertisements in the Discover feed, while various manufacturers have shown advertisements on, for example, the lockscreen, in the notification bar or in the keyboard.
