Xiaomi shows renders of Redmi 5 and 5 Plus with 18:9 screen
Xiaomi has published renders of its Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus smartphones. Both devices have an 18:9 screen and will be officially announced on Thursday. The budget smartphones will probably get a Snapdragon 450 and Snapdragon 625 soc.
Xiaomi’s spokesperson has announced the renders of the devices published on Twitter. He also says that the devices will be announced in China on December 7. He does not mention further details or specifications, but last week information about the devices already appeared via an inspection body.
It shows that the smaller Redmi 5 will have a 5.7″ screen with a resolution of 1440×720 pixels, while the 5 Plus has a 5.99″ screen with a resolution of 2160×1080 pixels. The Redmi 5 phones are the successors of the Redmi 4 series. The Redmi Note 4/4X was one of the best-selling phones in the world according to various analysts.
