Xiaomi releases Mi Max 3 with 6.9″ screen and 5500mAh battery in China
Xiaomi has announced the Mi Max 3 in China. The large smartphone has a 6.9 “LCD with a resolution of 2160×1080 pixels and is equipped with a 5500mAh battery. The device runs on a Snapdragon 636-soc from Qualcomm.
The Mi Max 3 is the first model in the Max series with an 18:9 screen. The device is 87.4mm wide and 176.2mm long. The device is therefore no larger than last year’s Mi Max 2, which is equipped with a 6.44 “screen with a 16: 9 ratio.
The device not only has a large screen, but also a battery with a high capacity of 5500mAh. Xiaomi has concealed it in the housing with a thickness of 8 mm. According to the manufacturer, the battery can be charged 71 percent in one hour.
On the back are two cameras, a twelve-megapixel and a five-megapixel one. The front camera has an eight-megapixel resolution. The soc is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636, an octacore with Kryo 260 cores operating at 1.8GHz. Xiaomi is going to make different versions, with a maximum of 6GB of RAM and 128GB of flash storage.
Xiaomi releases the Mi Max 3 in China. A model with 4GB of ram and 64GB of flash storage has a suggested retail price of 1699 yuan. Converted with VAT, that is about 262 euros. It is not known whether Xiaomi will also release the device in other parts of the world.
Further Xiaomi has announced that it will present the Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite on July 24. Those devices are released worldwide and they are the successors of the Mi A1, an Android One phone.
