Xiaomi releases FlipBuds Pro earphones with active noise cancellation in China
Xiaomi has announced new high-end wireless earphones in China. The FlipBuds Pro have active noise cancellation that works with three microphones per ear. The earphones are equipped with a Qualcomm chip with support for Bluetooth 5.2.
According to Xiaomi, the noise cancellation of the FlipBuds Pro earphones can suppress ambient noise by up to 40 decibels. The earphones themselves produce sound with 11mm drivers and support the aptx Adaptive codec. Operation is done with gestures: pressing one of the earphones for a long time activates a transparency mode, in which ambient sounds can be heard better.
The earphones have a Game Mode that should provide low latency, but this only works if the FlipBuds Pro are paired with certain Xiaomi smartphones. It concerns the Mi Mix Fold, the models from the Mi 11 series and the Redmi K40s and Note 9 Pro.
Xiaomi uses Qualcomm’s QCC5151 chip for Bluetooth 5.2 and the earphones can be connected to two devices at the same time. The earphones can be ordered in China for 799 yuan, converted that is about 102 euros. It is not known whether and when the earphones will also be available in Europe.
