Xiaomi presents Mi Band 3 with bigger battery and bigger screen
Xiaomi has announced the Mi Band 3. Compared to its predecessor, the fitness tracker has a larger screen and a larger battery. The battery life has remained about the same. There will be variants with and without NFC.
Users can use NFC for mobile payments, among other things. The Mi Band 3 is also slightly more resistant to water than the second Mi Band and can now be submerged up to fifty meters under water, claims Xiaomi. The battery has a capacity of 110mAh, an improvement of fifty percent compared to the battery in the Mi Band 2. According to Xiaomi, the new fitness tracker lasts twenty days on a battery.
The OLED screen has a diagonal of 0.78 “and a resolution of 128×80 pixels, compared to 0.42” and 128×64 in the previous version. This makes the screen much larger, but also a lot less sharp than the previous version. The fitness tracker includes a heart rate sensor.
Xiaomi charges 169 yuan for the non-NFC version and 199 yuan for the NFC-enabled version. That is converted about 22.50 and 26.50 euros respectively.
