Xiaomi has presented its first humanoid robot, the CyberOne. This robot is 1.77 meters tall, has an arm width of 1.68 meters and weighs 52 kilograms. The CyberOne has a response time of 0.5ms, can lift 1.5kg and can recognize people, emotions and gestures.

Xiaomi does not reveal all the details about the CyberOne, but it does state that the humanoid robot has 500 gram servo motors attached to the hinges of the upper limbs. They can generate 30Nm of torque. The servo motors at the hip joint can generate 300Nm and together they ensure that the robot has 22 degrees of freedom of movement. Thanks to the motors and a proprietary algorithm, Xiaomi’s humanoid can walk upright, but it remains unclear whether the robot can also balance itself when it is pushed or has to walk on uneven surfaces.

The CyberOne can perceive depth and three-dimensional spaces thanks to its own developed Mi-Sense module. The robot also uses artificial intelligence for this, but Xiaomi does not provide any further details about this. According to the Chinese manufacturer, the humanoid robot can recognize human emotions and makes 45 divisions. The robot can also recognize individual persons, gestures and expressions and is able to distinguish 85 different types of ambient noise.

It is not the first time that Xiaomi presents a robot. In the summer of 2021, the company presented the ‘CyberDog’. However, according to the company, this humanoid robot is more complex mechanically. “This type of robot needs more powerful motors that allow more freedom of movement,” it sounds. According to the Chinese manufacturer, the algorithms would also be more complex. A single copy of the CyberOne should cost between 600,000 and 700,000 Chinese Yuan. That is converted approximately between 86,000 and 100,000 euros.
