Xiaomi makes 4g version of large budget smartphone Redmi Note

The Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi has presented a 4G variant of its large budget smartphone Redmi Note. In the device, the manufacturer exchanges the octacore soc of MediaTek for a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quadcore.

This makes the Redmi Note 4g the second smartphone from Xiaomi after the Mi 4 with 4g support, although the Redmi Note 4g will be on the market earlier than the Mi 4 with 4g. The Snapdragon 400 with four Cortex A7 cores and Adreno 305 GPU can also be found in the Motorola Moto G, HTC One mini 2 and Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini. The processor cores of the Qualcomm MSM8926 in the Redmi Note 4g run at a maximum of 1.6GHz. The 4G version of the Note is not a dual SIM device like the original version, which appeared in March.

Xiaomi has apparently not changed anything compared to the current Redmi Note. The new device has the same 5.5″ screen with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels and the same 3100mAh battery, although it may have a different battery life due to the changed soc. The price of the 4g version is the same as that of the octacore variant: 999 yuan, converted EUR 121. The phone will appear in China and Malaysia.

The Chinese manufacturer largely owes the growth of the past year to the sales success of its cheaper Redmi series of devices. Xiaomi has now surpassed competitors such as Sony, HTC and LG and delivers more than fifteen million devices per quarter. Only Samsung, Apple, Huawei and Lenovo are selling more devices.
