Xiaomi introduces smart running shoes with Intel Curie soc . in China

Xiaomi introduces its new 90 Minutes Ultra Smart Sportswear running shoes in China in collaboration with Intel. The Intel Curie-soc equipped steppers work as a fitness tracker and measure distance, speed and calories burned.

The Intel Curie chip in the shoes is the size of a knot and therefore does not form an obstacle in terms of space and weight. In addition to the above functions, the shoes should also be able to detect whether a user is walking or running and even climbing. The Intel Curie soc must be able to run for 60 days before it needs to be recharged. It is not known exactly what that loading looks like. The connection to the smartphone and the companion app is probably via bluetooth, in accordance with the design of the Curie chip.

According to GizChina, the running shoes are mainly aimed at professional runners. The sole has an arch to provide good support for the foot everywhere and is equipped with an air cushion. Also, the antibacterial soles are replaceable and the outsole must be non-slip.

The Chinese Lenovo has been showing smart running shoes for some time that are also equipped with an Intel Curie chip and have the same functions, but as far as we know, these are not actually for sale yet.

The 90 Minutes Ultra Smart Sportswear running shoes come in black, blue and pink. There is also a special glow in the dark edition. The smart running shoes will hit the Chinese market in April for 299 Yuan, or 40 euros converted. At the moment, the Chinese tech company is not disclosing anything about a price or release outside of China.
