Xiaomi introduces Mi Band 4 with color AMOLED screen
Xiaomi has announced the Mi Band 4 wearable. Compared to its predecessor, the fourth generation of Xiaomi’s fitness tracker has a color screen and a microphone. There is also optional support for nfc to be able to make payments, for example.
The Xiaomi Mi Band 4 has a 0.95″ screen with amoled panel that achieves a resolution of 120×240 pixels. This makes the screen one of the improvements compared to the Mi Band 3, which has a smaller black-and-white screen with a resolution of 80×120 pixels.
There are also variants with support for NFC, which gives users the option of using the tracker for contactless payment. The Band 4 also has a six-axis accelerometer. In combination with the watertightness, this makes it possible to keep track of swimming statistics, for example.
There is also a microphone for voice commands via the Xiao AI voice assistant, with which, for example, smart home devices and music can be controlled. The wearable connects to smartphones via Bluetooth 5.0 and could last for twenty days on a single battery charge.
The Mi Band 4 will be released in China on June 16. It is not known when the fitness tracker will come to Europe, but given the Chinese prices, the sales price is in line with that of the Band 3. It is currently available for prices of around 30 euros.
