Xiaomi introduces Mi 11 with Snapdragon 888 and 6.81 “amoled display
Xiaomi has officially announced its Mi 11 smartphone. The device will include a Snapdragon 888-soc and a 6.81 “amoled screen made of Gorilla Glass Victus. The Mi 11 with 8GB of memory and 128GB of storage costs 500 euros in China.
Xiaomi equips the Mi 11 with a 6.81 “amoled display with a resolution of 3200×1440 pixels and a maximum brightness of 1500 cd / m². The panel supports a variable refresh rate from 30Hz to 120Hz. As the smartphone maker previously confirmed, the Xiaomi Mi 11 will get a Snapdragon 888 soc. It is the first phone with this soc, which was officially announced by Qualcomm earlier this month. The chip has an integrated 5g modem and is made using Samsung’s 5nm process. The soc gets a single Cortex-X1 core at 2.84GHz, three Cortex-A78 cores at 2.42GHz and four more efficient Cortex-A55 cores at 1.80GHz.
The Mi 11 will again receive a 108-megapixel camera with optical image stabilization, just like the current Xiaomi Mi 10. The smartphone will also receive a 13-megapixel camera with ultra-wide-angle lens and a 5-megapixel sensor for ‘telephoto and macro photos’. A 20-megapixel selfie camera is embedded in a hole in the screen.
The 4600mAh battery supports wired fast charging with a power of 55W. Xiaomi no longer supplies the smartphone with a charger as standard, but reports that it is releasing a bundle version with a separate fast charger. The suggested retail price of that variant remains unchanged compared to the version without a charger. Users can also charge the device wirelessly with a maximum of 50W. The Mi 11 itself can also charge other accessories wirelessly. That is just like the current Mi 10 devices at a maximum of 10W.
The smartphone will get a suggested retail price in China from 3999 yuan, converted around 500 euros. For that amount, Xiaomi will supply a Mi 11 with 8GB Lpddr5-3200 memory and 128GB ufs 3.1 storage. A variant with 256GB of storage and 8GB of memory costs around 538 euros, while a model with 12GB of memory costs around 588 euros in China. Availability in Europe is not mentioned yet.
The phone comes with MIUI 12.5, which is based on Android 11. The device will be available in different colors; a glass model is available in black, white and blue. There are also versions with blue or brown faux leather.
