Xiaomi introduces 8″ tablet Mi Pad 4
Xiaomi introduces a new 8″ tablet: the Mi Pad 4. The device runs on Android and has a Snapdragon 660-soc. Two variants will be available, one with Wi-Fi only and a 4G version.
According to Xiaomi’s announcement, it is a tablet with an 8″ screen and a resolution of 1920×1200 pixels in a 16:10 ratio. The present Snapdragon 660 midrange-soc from Qualcomm was announced by the American chipmaker in 2017 and features over four cores at 2.2GHz and four lower clocked cores at 1.8Ghz.
Different memory configurations are available: 3GB ram with 32GB storage, or 4GB ram with 64GB storage. The lte version is only available in the latter configuration. The memory can be expanded with a micro SD card. According to Xiaomi, the supported 4g bands are the numbers 1, 3, 5, 7 and 8. So Band 20 is missing.
The tablet has a battery with a capacity of 6000mAh, but support for fast charging is missing. On the back is a thirteen-megapixel camera, while there is a five-megapixel model on the front that allows face unlock. There is also support for bluetooth 5.0 and wifi ac. The tablet has a 3.5mm and a USB-C connection.
For the cheapest variant, Xiaomi asks a price of 1099 yuan, which amounts to about 170 euros including VAT. The Wi-Fi model with more memory is priced at 1399 Yuan, while the 4G model costs 1499 Yuan. It is unclear whether Xiaomi also wants to offer the models outside of China.
