Xiaomi announces Mi AirDots Pro 2 TWS noise-canceling earphones
Chinese tech giant Xiaomi has announced the Mi AirDots Pro 2 TWS. The wireless earphones follow the Mi True Wireless headphones from 2018 and, according to the manufacturer, offer better sound quality and more advanced noise cancellation. For now, they are only for sale in China.
Just like the previous generation, both the white Mi AirDots Pro 2 earphones and the included charging case are very similar to Apple’s AirPods. With 4.5 grams per earpiece and a total weight of 50 grams, the new version is slightly lighter than the previous edition, with AirDots of 5.8 grams and a filled case of 58 grams.
New is the support of the lhdc bluetooth audio codec, which stands for low latency and high definition. This would allow up to three times more data to be sent, which, according to Xiaomi, results in better sound quality. In addition, the Mi AirDots Pro 2 earphones offer enc or environmental noise canceling; this should provide more clarity, especially during telephone calls, with a minimum of disturbing ambient noise.
By using Bluetooth 5.0, the new earphones would also be more energy-efficient and experience less interference from nearby WiFi signals. The headphones last up to four hours per charge, claims the manufacturer, where the rechargeable storage box can provide ten extra hours of autonomy. The set can be fully charged in about an hour via the USB connection.
According to Gizchina, the Mi AirDots Pro 2 TWS earphones will be available from Friday, albeit only in the home country of China for now. Converted the price is about 51 euros.
