Xiaomi announces Mi 8 Pro with rear-screen fingerprint scanner
Xiaomi has announced the Mi 8 Pro. It seems to be the international version of the Mi 8 Explorer Edition with optional semi-transparent back, 3D facial recognition and a fingerprint scanner behind the screen.

The Mi 8 Pro or Mi 8 UD has, among other things, 4G on all frequencies used in the Benelux, according to the specs. The Mi 8 Pro seems to be the international version of the Explorer Edition, which was only intended for the Chinese market. The Mi 8 Pro has not yet appeared on European sites of the Chinese smartphone maker.
In addition to the frequency bands, the phone has also received a new color compared to the Explorer Edition, in addition to the version with semi-transparent back. The Mi 8 Pro will go on sale on September 21, but when it will be released in Europe is unknown.
In addition to the Mi 8 Pro, Xiaomi also announced the Mi 8 Lite, which the manufacturer also refers to as Mi 8 Youth. It will go on sale on September 25.
Update, Thursday: This article first stated that the Mi 8 and Mi 8 Explorer Edition do not support the 4g frequencies used in the Benelux. That is incorrect; the other Mi 8 phones also have all 4g frequencies on board.
