Xiaomi Announces Foldable Mix Fold with Liquid Lens Camera

Xiaomi has announced the Mix Fold, its first foldable Android smartphone. It is also the first smartphone with a liquid lens, which allows magnification from 3x to 30x over the primary camera.

The telephoto camera is the one with a liquid lens. It has an 8-megapixel sensor that can focus at a distance of 3cm for macro photos and can bring objects 3 to 30x closer to the primary camera. This is done by changing the shape with liquid in the lens, just like the human eye does. Xiaomi does not give more details about the camera. The Mi Mix Fold runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 and gets 12GB or 16GB Lpddr5 memory and 256GB or 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The battery has a capacity of 5020mAh and can be charged with 67W.
