Xiaomi announces 38 euro Redmi Watch in China
Xiaomi has announced in China the converted 38 euros Redmi Watch, the first smartwatch to be released under the name of the subsidiary brand. Previously, there were rumors about a possible Mi Watch Lite that Xiaomi would like to release under its own name.
The Redmi Watch has a 1.4 “screen of unknown type with a resolution of 320×320 pixels. The clock measures 41x35mm and is a maximum of 11.9mm thick with the heart rate monitor. Besides a heart rate monitor it also contains a gyroscope, magnetometer and a light sensor. In addition, Xiaomi has put nfc in the watch, presumably for mobile payments.
The clock is 5ATM waterproof for use under water up to fifty meters and the housing weighs 35 grams and it contains a 230mAh battery. The Redmi Watch will be released in China immediately for 299 yuan, currently around 38 euros.
The specs are very similar to those of the US-approved Mi Watch Lite. The manufacturer announced its first smartwatch for release on the European market: the Mi Watch, which costs 99 euros, with a round screen. The Mi Watch Lite from the inspection has packaging that has been translated into European languages, such as German and Italian. As a result, it is obvious that the Redmi Watch will be released as the Mi Watch Lite at a later date.
