Xcom: Enemy Unknown Unexpectedly Released For PlayStation Vita
Xcom: Enemy Unknown Plus for the Vita has arrived on PlayStation Store. The game costs 19.99 euros and is 2.2GB in size. Earlier there were indications that a Vita port of the game would come, but an official announcement was not made.
Publisher 2K has released the Vita version of Xcom: Enemy Unknown on the PlayStation Store without publicizing it. The game has also received the addition ‘Plus’ after the name, but what that means is not entirely clear yet. according to experiences on Twitter the graphics are a bit angular and the loading times long, but the gameplay is otherwise good.
Last year, there were indications that Take Two, parent company of 2K, was working on a Vita port of the game that was released on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in 2012. Although it has now become a reality, it is striking that both publisher 2K and developer Firaxis have not made an announcement. Xcom: Enemy Unknown was previously released for iOS and Android. The Vita port is probably only downloadable and there will be no physical version of the game.
Xcom 2 was released early this year. The new game is not coming to consoles due to the procedurally generated levels in the game. Firaxis says it only has the expertise to get this working properly on the PC.
