XCOM Creators Show Tactical RPG Marvel’s Midnight Suns

2K Games has announced Marvel’s Midnight Suns tactical role-playing game. The game is being developed by the XCOM team at Firaxis Games. The game will be released on March 22, 2022 and the first gameplay footage will be shown on September 1.

Marvel’s Midnight Suns is set in “the darker side of the Marvel universe,” according to the developers. In the game, players face off against ‘demon forces of the underworld’ and team up with the Midnight Suns, who are said to be ‘Earth’s last line of defense’. Players must defeat Lilith in-game before completing the ‘Darkhold’.

The makers let it be known that it is a tactical RPG made by the makers of XCOM, but share few details. It is therefore not yet known exactly how the gameplay of the game works. There were previously rumors that 2K Games and Firaxis would come with an XCOM-like Marvel game.

On September 1, 2K Games and Firaxis Games will show the first gameplay footage of the game. The game will be released on March 22, 2022. According to Polygon, which interviewed the developers, the game will be available for Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
