The Xbox One version of multiplayer survival game Ark: Survival Evolved will feature a split-screen mode that allows two players to play in co-op on a non-dedicated server or in offline mode. In addition, performance has improved.

The update for the game will be outlined by Community Manager Jat on the official community website for the game. The split-screen functionality is temporarily exclusive to the Xbox One and should therefore eventually also come to the Windows, Linux and OSX versions of the game, Gamespot writes. The performance improvements should deliver a frame rate that is on average about 15 percent higher than before, the developers said. A memory leak has also been fixed and the maximum tether range on non-dedicated servers has been increased by 33 percent, which means that players can stray further from each other.

In addition to the addition of split screen and the improvements in performance, Ark has also received some content. For example, the Xbox One version now contains beer, greenhouses, riot armor, an electric baton and three new dinosaurs. This means that the content of the Xbox One version has been aligned with PC version 234. Several bugs have also been fixed. The game is currently in Early Access on Steam and the Xbox One version is also a preview. The full version of Ark: Survival Evolved is slated to be released in June. The game must then be released on the above platforms and the PlayStation 4.
