The Xbox One will get a different version of the Battlefield Hardline beta than the version for Windows and PlayStation 4. It was already known that all three platforms would get a beta test, only the current one is only playable for gamers with Windows or a PlayStation 4 .

Karl-Magnus Troedsson, director of DICE, made this known in an interview with TotalXbox. “We will have a beta on all platforms the game will be released on. But to be clear, the Xbox One will not be this beta version, but a different version,” said Troedsson. It is not known when the Xbox One beta will be playable, but it is possible that it will be released around GamesCom, the game fair that takes place in Cologne in August. Troedsson states that DICE wants the game to be played by fans, because the company wants feedback from players. ”We can also test certain things in the background that way. We will definitely continue to do more testing like this.”

The Battlefield Hardline beta was playable on Windows and PlayStation 4 immediately after the game was announced at E3 last week. Interested parties can still sign up for the closed beta via the game’s site. Hardline is the latest game in the Battlefield series and will be released on October 21. The game focuses on the war on crime and the battle between police and criminals.
