Xbox app now shows how well a game runs on PC before installation
The Xbox app for Windows now indicates how well a game runs on a PC. To do this, Microsoft examines how games run on comparable PC systems and adjusts its new indicator accordingly. That indicator will be visible even before the game is installed.
The Game Performance Fit Indicator will according to Microsoft are not yet available for every game in the app. The company states that it must first collect enough information about the games and that this is certainly the case with more recent titles. However, if a PC can’t run a particular game, Microsoft will show a button to check the system requirements.
Microsoft also overhauled the Xbox app’s user interface. From now on, all pre-installed games will be visible on the left side of the app, along with the navigation menus. The search function has been tightened up and now also shows games belonging to the EA Play or Ubisoft Connect catalogs.
