Xbox Accessories app gets remapping tool for Elite 2 and Adaptive controller

Users of the Xbox Wireless Elite Series 2 Controller and Xbox Adaptive Controller will soon be able to remap the buttons on their controllers to PC keys. The feature is coming to the Xbox Accessories app. Xbox Insiders can try out the feature now.

Users of the above-mentioned Xbox controllers can remap their controllers’ keys to both letter keys and modifier keys (Ctrl, Shift, Alt, and Win). It will be according to Microsoft It is also possible to set combinations of modifier keys such as Ctrl + Shift. If this is chosen, only a single letter key can be added. Microsoft even gives the example of Ctrl + Shift + C.

For the time being, it is only possible to do button remapping via the USB connection of the controllers or via the Xbox Wireless Adapter. The function does not work via Bluetooth. It is not clear when the feature will roll out to all users. Xbox Insider users can already try out the new remapping tool in the Xbox Accessories app.
