Blizzard had to deal with extensive Ddos attacks on servers for World of Warcraft Classic last weekend. The attacks caused connectivity issues for players across multiple games.

The ddos attacks started on Saturday, leading to downtime for American players. The attack was claimed via Twitter through a now-suspended account called UKDrillas. That message spoke of an attack specifically on US pvp WoW servers, but other games such as Overwatch were also affected. It is not known whether the people behind that account were actually responsible for the attacks.

The attacks continued on Sunday and Monday night. Blizzard reported Sunday that some of its players were affected by the connection problems but later the company announced that all World of Warcraft Realms except Rattlegore were back online. On Monday morning, Blizzard said the attacks continued and the company continues to monitor them. Bizzard has not yet released details about the attacks.

On the World of Warcraft Classic forum, many users complain about Blizzard’s inability to repel the DDOs attacks. In the past, many gaming services have been subject to DDO attacks, which are cheap to run but difficult to avert.
