Windows lets Insiders choose their own browser for opening Mail links again
According to information from an Italian site, in a new Redstone 5 build, Windows will once again let Insiders choose whether to open links from the Mail app with Edge or with another browser. In a previous Insider build, that was only Edge.

The information comes from the Italian site Aggiornamenti Lumia, which publishes images of a new toggle. It is unclear where the site got these images from. The slider, present in the Windows Mail app settings, lets users choose not to open links in Edge by default. The default is to do that. Presumably, Mail will choose the browser that the user has set as the default when the feature is turned off. Furthermore, Mail would get a slightly changed look in a new Insider build.
Microsoft announced in March that links from Mail would only be open in Edge in build 17623 of Redstone 5. At the time, it said it wanted to provide users with “the best and most secure experience.” However, according to the Italian site, the action also drew criticism from Insiders. It is not clear whether the adjustment is a direct result of this.
