Windows 10 will automatically roll back installation of problematic updates

Windows 10 will try to roll back updates that cause problems in the future. In the thirty days after such a recovery procedure, Windows will prevent the problematic update from being installed automatically.

Microsoft reports the policy for rolling back recent updates that cause issues on a support page for Windows 10. These include updates that cause incompatibility issues. If this causes the system to refuse to start, Windows will attempt a rollback.

“This is only done if all other restore attempts are unsuccessful,” Microsoft said. In the 30 days after the restore, Windows 10 will block attempts to install the update automatically. “This gives Microsoft and our partners the opportunity to investigate the error and fix the issues.” After thirty days, Windows will try to apply the update again.
