A recently released update to Windows 10 seems to be causing problems for users. The software causes the PC or laptop to restart due to the update failure. In some cases, Windows continues to install the erroneous update.

It concerns the update with number KB3194496, and according to the Windows news site of insider Paul Thurrott, it causes problems for many users. It is not known exactly how much it is. Because the software does not install correctly for some users, this causes a reboot to uninstall again. There are also reports of multiple reboots.

In some cases, after the reboot, the system will try again to install KB3194496. Because the installation then fails again and a restart is required, the system enters a kind of bootloop, in which a new installation is followed by a restart. Incidentally, there are also users who report that after several attempts, the update installs correctly.

According to Thurrott.com, Microsoft was aware of the issues because they had already been reported by testers during the preview period. As a result, it is unclear why the company has released the update; Microsoft has not yet responded to the issue. There would also be no solution to the problems at this point.

Previously, an update to Windows 10 also caused problems. A piece of software caused some webcams to stop working. This was due to the removal of video decoding via mjpeg and h.264. Microsoft soon announced that it was working on a solution.
