Windows 10 test build includes Game Mode to prioritize games

In the most recent test build of Windows 10, build 15007, a new mode that gives priority to games has appeared. The feature doesn’t seem to work at the moment. Another new feature lets users broadcast games via a stream.

The addition was noted by MSPoweruser. The mode can be called up in the latest test build by combining the Windows key and the g key, and then selecting them. The description of the ‘Game Mode’ states that the mode ensures that ‘games are given the highest priority to improve their quality’.

This matches the description of Twitter user and Windows follower WalkingCat, who announced the mode in December noticed using a dll library. What exactly the mode does is still unclear in the absence of an official announcement from Microsoft. An obvious feature would be to allocate additional system capacity to the game.

In addition to the new mode, the build introduces the ability to broadcast a game. Microsoft already announced this feature for the Creators Update in October under the name Beam. Currently this feature is not available in the test build and can only be seen in the game menu.
