Windows 10 Insider build shows GPU usage in task manager
Microsoft has released Insider Preview build 16226 of Windows 10 to users in the ‘fast ring’. In the new build, the use of the video card is shown in the task manager window, among other things. According to Microsoft, that was a frequently requested feature.
The task manager performance tab shows in the new build the GPU usage per component. For example, it can be shown whether the video card is used for rendering 3D images or for coding or decoding video. The usage per process is shown in the details tab. Microsoft reports that the functionality is still being worked on and that users can expect problems and bugs.
Build 16226 of Windows 10 also includes a new Xbox Networking section in the Gaming section of Settings. Here, users should be able to identify and resolve issues with the Xbox Live service. The new build also adds support for Unicode 10.0.0, which includes several new emojis.
Furthermore, various adjustments have been made to the Edge browser. Now users can migrate cookies and settings from Chrome to Edge. When reading EPUBs in the Edge browser, users can right click on text and choose Copy and Ask Cortana. The assistant then looks up relevant information about the selected text.
