Windows 10 Insider build includes search with new interface
The latest Insider build of Windows 10 includes a search function with a new interface, separate from Assistant Cortana. The renewed search function can be called up by means of a change in the register.
The new search feature is present in Insider Build 17040, Windows Central shows. After modifying the registry, the search interface can be called up by clicking on the Cortana icon. The search box will then appear in the middle of the screen, just like it is with macOS Sierra.
Also, the search interface pops up when users press the home button and type something on the keyboard. Microsoft itself has not yet announced anything about a changed appearance for the search function and it is therefore unknown if and when the changed search function will come to Windows 10.
