Windows 10 Creators Update coming in April
An anonymous source has stated that the Windows 10 Creators Update, also known as “Redstone 2,” will carry version number 1704. This is an indication that the update will be available from April.
The source has given its info to MSPoweruser. The website had previously shared rumors that the update would receive version number 1703, but apparently it was delayed by a month. The source has also said that the next major update should be completed before the end of 2017, but an exact date has not yet been announced.
Major Windows 10 updates are usually named after the month they become available, with the first two numbers representing the year and the last numbers representing the month, such as 1511 for the November 2015 update and 1607 for the July 2016 update.
Microsoft announced the update in October. Not all the new features of the update are known yet, but the company has already announced a new version of Paint, which has support for 3D objects. The update is also likely to bring a built-in blue light filter.
Another feature introduced with the update is support for Windows Holographic Platform. This makes it possible to create a virtual desktop environment in virtual reality. Several manufacturers have already announced headsets for it. On Tuesday, Lenovo unveiled a copy that has two screens with a 1440×1440 pixel resolution.
