Wileyfox confirms phone with Windows 10 Mobile will be released
British smartphone maker Wileyfox will release a phone with Windows 10 Mobile in August. The manufacturer aims the device at the business market and thinks that Microsoft’s mobile operating system is suitable because of its security.
The phone will first be released in the United Kingdom, after which a release in more European countries will follow, Mobile News writes. The British company has not yet disclosed details and specs of the device. The name is not yet known.
In any case, it is a device in the budget category, in which the British smartphone maker has been active until now. The CEO of the manufacturer points out that not all companies can spend a lot of money on phones for their employees and that a budget option with Windows 10 Mobile has a good chance of success.
Not many models with Windows 10 Mobile have been released lately. HP came out with the high-end Elite x3, while TCL released a Windows version of its Alcatel Idol 4S. Microsoft itself came out with the Lumia 650 last year, but hasn’t announced a single Lumia since that release a year ago.
Until now, Wileyfox released all its devices with Android. That was until a few months ago Cyanogen OS, but now it is a self-adapted version of Android without a name. This was necessary because Cyanogen stopped developing firmware for Android devices.
