The developers of WhatsApp believe that picture-in-picture mode will make it even easier for iOS users to multitask while making a video call. The function was before already noted on WABetaInfo.

The developers announced In addition to this feature, we have some beta features for better user experience. For example, the indicators during video conversations with people who do not use the camera will from now on be more colorful and larger, and banners will now also be shown during group conversations. These banners can, for example, be used to announce that a new participant is participating in a group conversation.

The development team also mentions some recent changes to the WhatsApp app. For example, it is now possible to hold group conversations with a maximum of 32 people and participants of a group conversation can also be muted. Earlier this month, WhatsApp rolled out an update that allows users to create 3D avatars of themselves. These 3d avatars can be sent as ‘stickers’ to WhatsApp contacts, or used as a personalized profile picture.
