WhatsApp test interface for voice waveform calling
WhatsApp has launched a new voice calling interface. Users are also shown a waveform for each caller, so that in addition to the illuminated windows, it is also possible to see who is saying something.
The test has started on iOS, says WABetaInfo. The new look replaces the current interface for individual and group calls, the site says. Users on iOS need version 22.5.0.70 to see the interface, on Android the interface is not yet available. WABetaInfo has been a reliable source for years that documents and publishes changes to WhatsApp’s app.
In group conversations, participants stand in colored boxes, accompanied by avatars and the waveforms. The rest of the interface, with the buttons for operation at the bottom and the button to add people to the conversation at the top, remains the same in the test. Also, the call has an unchangeable wallpaper. It is unknown what the purpose of the test is and when WhatsApp would like to release the new interface. Parent company Meta has not responded to the online appearance of the test.
